Latest office furniture trends - Industrial versus Sleek

There are two distinct trends emerging in office furniture design that are finding favour with our clients:

Industrial:

'Rougher' in appearance

ˇ        Muted colours: Oak desks with black leg frames.

ˇ        Muted fabric colours on seating

ˇ        Black metalwork on the desking, which is echoed by black fixtures, fittings and pipework

ˇ        Offices and meeting spaces décor reminiscent of a converted warehouse

ˇ        Plain white walls

ˇ        Roughly finished wooden floors

Black legs on desks are very new. We specify our DNA desking range with a black leg frame. We are also being asked for desk tops to be stained to match wooden flooring. At the other end of the spectrum we have clients who are asking us for sleek and clean offices and conference rooms.

Sleek:

ˇ        White desks with white legs

ˇ        White cupboards and meeting tables

ˇ        Inspired by 'Apple' products

ˇ        Straight lines - no curved crescent or wave desks. Everyone sits at a rectangular desk.

ˇ        A shot of colour provided, by a bright chair fabric. Turquoise is very hot at the moment.

Our Oblique desk range is all straight lines and comes in an all-white option. Join desks together in long straight rows to create clean lines with the minimum of legs.
